you know....
1. A wolf pack can travel 125 miles in a single day. A Wolf pack
territory can be as large as 1000 square miles. Their territory and
habitats are being encroached upon by man, which has led to their near
extinction. While wolves are still listed as a threatened and endangered
species, recent efforts are slowly increasing their numbers.
2.
Wolves are very social animals and they communicate with each other
with body language, scent marking and vocalization. Wolves mate for
life, they don't change partners as some other animals do, and their
packs are normally made up of the alpha male and female and their young.
The average span of life of a wolf in the wild is 7 to 10 years.
3. A wolf can hunt and kill prey up to 10 times their own body
weight. Their preferred meal is moose, elk, and deer. They will sometimes
prey on small mammals. Due to loss of habitat wolves have resorted to
killing domestic animals such as horses, cattle and sheep, causing them
to be hunted and killed by the ranchers and farmers.

the southwestern United States into Mexico. They were all but extinct

still very rare sight in the wild. There are only 50 Mexican wolves
living in the wild.

little known of the habits and life of this wolf. Due to the isolation
of their territory they are safe from the greatest threat of all,
man. |
